Welcome back to our blog that showcases the trends in Advertising that have been popular across the year 2019. In the first part, we covered Video Marketing, OTT Advertising, Mobile-first Advertising and User-Generated Content. In the second and also the end-edition in the series, we share more trends that have given the world of branding, communication, branding and publicity – a run for their variety.
1/ Cinemagraphs
This is one interesting medium that is slowly beginning to grab the advertising creator’s attention. A great fit in the Films and Photography realm, a Cinemagraph is a hybrid of photo and video with subtle motion in a certain part of the image that plays in a seamless loop. The interesting twist is, the rest of the image stays still. It almost seems like you are looking at an animation.
The Bottomline: Serve your consumer something interesting from your brand, often.
2/ Stories
By stories, we are referring to Instagram and Facebook stories. This is an engaging and immerse advertising format for social media marketing with plenty of scope to experiment with creatives and if you have quick and instant ideas to share. Stories need to be snappy and really attention-worthy, else they may not interest. Moreover, they come with a certain timeframe after which they disappear.
The Bottomline: Go where the consumers is going.

3/ Messengers and Chatbots
While Messengers and Chatbots may not represent advertising or communication in the typical sense of the words, they definitely have become a way for brand to engage in serious conversations with the consumer. Whether it is post-purchase feedback, communication, or trouble-shooting – several brands have lately switched to messengers to handhold the consumer in the purchase, and more often, in the post-purchase journey.
The Bottomline: Experiment with newer ways to stay connected with your consumer.
4/ Voice Search
In this day and times when a purchase is just a tap away, it wouldn’t be unfair to say that consumers are always looking for something, where they make a purchase or not. So next up in the world of searches is voice-based search, all set to be the game-changer for brands. Brands adopting the voice-way to reach the consumer will surely benefit from it in the not-so-far big future of voice-based search and services.
The Bottomline: Ensure you are present when your product category is being searched for.
